An old hand at kaiten sushi, this conveyor-belt sushi brand Sushiro スシロー from Japan is about speed rather fancy nosh or majestic ambiance. Giving other kaiten sushi players a real run for their money, Sushiro スシロー offers the most-value-for-money sushi with over 100 varieties of sushi and side dishes to choose from.

Established since 1984 and now has more than 530 outlets in the world, Sushiro スシロー has proved so popular that it is currently the highest earning kaiten sushi brand for eight consecutive years.

The new space at Tiong Bahru Plaza is Sushiro‘s スシロー first outlet in Southeast Asia though prices are not exactly the same. In Japan, each plate of sushi cost only ¥100, but here the lowest price is going for $2.20 (red plate) to $3.20 for (gold plate). Premium ones cost a little higher at $4.80 each (black plate).

Freshness and quality served as key ingredients at Sushiro スシロー as its products are imported directly from Japan.

Expect all the usuals such as Tuna sushi ($2.20 for 2pcs), Yellowtail sushi ($3.20 for 2pcs) and Salmon roe sushi ($3.20 for 2pcs), which makes up Sushiro スシロー Japan top 3 best sellers. You will also find a range of exclusive and seasonal items introduced on the menu. Besides sushi, the restaurant also serves a selection of side dishes like edamame ($2.50), chawanmushi ($3.50), miso soup ($2.50), chicken karaage ($4.80), fried salmon skin ($3.50) and including ramen ($5.50 – $7.80).

Sushiro スシロー is not big on ambience, but high standards and modestly priced sushi means that you should expect long queues. The restaurant sits about 162 people and customers are limited to 60 minutes of dining, so you better be fast with your hands and mouths.

If you are new to kaiten sushi concept (which you shouldn’t be) — all you need to do is help yourself to the colour-coded plates and snag your favourite sushi from the conveyor belt. Alternatively, you can order from the tablet and have the items delivered to you.

Sushiro スシロー offers drinking water free of charge and gets you free flow of soft drinks inclusive of coffee and green tea for $3.50++.
