China Social Media Sensation HEYTEA 喜茶 Opens in Singapore

HeyTea also known as Xicha 喜茶 has opened its first overseas shop outside of China. The six-year-old tea brand originating from Guangdong province has been propelled to national success all thanks to Chinese social media platform such as Weibo and WeChat.

With over 110 outlets across 17 fastest-growing Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the popular tea brand HeyTea has chosen Singapore as its first stop into global expansion.

The HeyTea Singapore store is located at ION Orchard Mall #B4-29 and will be officially open this weekend on the 10th of November 2018 at 10am. There will be a 1-for-1 promotion and free welcome gifts to be given away for the first 3 days of their opening.

In recent years, conventional tea-related beverages has taken a back seat to a new crop of innovative cheese-topped tea drinks and they are highly sought-after by many thousands of Chinese millennial consumers.

When Heytea first took the social media world by storm, there were notoriously long queues which had customers waiting for up to 7 hours. With more outlets location opened across the mainland, it appears that the storm has calmed down a little — but long queues are still seen at its most popular stores.

Singapore will soon get a taste of China’s trendiest tea beverages!

For Singapore debut, HeyTea will be introducing much of the same menu as the one in China, but it will also release two Singapore-exclusive offerings — Durian Ice Cream ($4.80) and Salted Egg Yolk Ice Cream ($4.80), along with other two classic ice cream flavours include signature Tea King Ice Cream ($2.80) and Mango Ice Cream ($4.80).

The HeyTea Singapore menu concentrates on iconic cheese tea and fruity selection, with creative options for consumers who like the sweet-tart combination of juicy mango and sweet berries.

As the original inventor of Cheese tea, HeyTea takes pride in its brand and product quality— it uses imported New Zealand anchor cheese to make its cheese foam everyday. HeyTea harvest and process its own tea leaves, as well as carefully source for high-quality tea leaves from other tea producers, and it uses the best ingredients to create the best selection of beverages.

Look out for classic Cheezo tea series such as King Fone which features rich flavours of Oolong tea leaves from Alishan Taiwan; Ever Spring uses another varietal of tea leaves from Taoyuan and Miaoli regions, while Aqua Green is a Jasmine infused green tea with hints of floral notes —  all topped with velvety smooth, rich and creamy cheese foam.

For the more health-conscious drinkers, the Fruity Boom tea series make a pretty good option. Free from artificial flavouring and fruit syrup, HeyTea uses 100% natural fresh fruits, natural rock sugar and high-quality raw ingredients in all their teas. Choose from the instagram-ready Grapefruit Boom, to citrusy choices like Orange Boom, Lemon Boom and Golden Pineapple Boom.
