Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta 2017 returns with new audacious creations – including its first exclusive mascot

From Mao Shan Wang mousse cakes to D24 crepes, puffs and tartlets, Goodwood Park Hotel is bringing the king of fruit Durian to the next level – introducing 6 NEW audacious creations and a scrumptious range of familiar favourites, all available at the annual Durian Fiesta from 10th of March to the 31st of July 2017.

Here’s some quick snippets on what to expect from the annual Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel – running over various periods.

D24 STARRY STARRY NIGHT ICE CREAM CAKE (NEW – $13 per slice / $33 for 350g / $58 for 700g)

The much-lauded Durian rainbow ice cream cake will take a hiatus. Hence a ‘dark’ diva appears to shake things up a little this year – looking gorgeous and elegant in a black ‘outfit’ made with charcoal sponge wrapped around the creamy homemade durian ice cream, then topped with gold stars made with icing and dark chocolate adding a touch of sophistication – similarly to make one think of a midnight sky filled with stars.

D24 FRIED SESAME BALLS (NEW – $11.80++ for 4 pieces / $23++ for 8 pieces Available for dine-in only at Min Jiang Goodwood Park Hotel)

One of my favourite dim sum treats – Fried Sesame Balls or better known as ‘Jian Dui’ (煎堆) in Chinese takes a sweet twist with fresh D24 durian mousse filled inside the perfectly crisp glutinous rice sesame balls. Who doesn’t love these little morsels of goodness?!

D24 SUNFLOWER SEED CRUMBLE TARTLET (NEW – $11.80 for 2 pieces / $30 for 6 pieces)

D24 CASHEW NUT CRUMBLE TARTLET (NEW – $11.80 for 2 pieces / $30 for 6 pieces)

Nestled in an Oreo cookie mini tart base, these dainty tartlets of durian mousse are coated with buttery vanilla crumble and either sunflower seeds or cashew nuts. Think eating Ferrero Rocher chocolates, but with delicious durian mousse in the centre.

SPIKY THE BEAR – The Durian Fiesta Mascot (NEW – $22)

A great gift or a memento of a very limited-edition teddy bear dressed in an adorable durian shell ‘onesie’. Named Spiky, he is the latest star of this fiesta!

D24 MATCHA CAKE (NEW – $12 per slice / $60 for 500g)

Did you know that matcha goes very well with durian? With the D24 Matcha cake, you can taste a layer of matcha mousse-white chocolate centre encased by durian mousse, almond sponge  and topped with matcha-white chocolate glaze. There are ladyfingers surrounding the cake and then studded with white chocolate pearls for an elegant look.

D24 SALTED CARAMEL CUPPA (NEW – $12 per cup)

When that sweet tooth calls for a lusciously decadent treat, the Salted Caramel Cuppa is sure to satisfy. Created with three layers of almond sponge, durian mousse and panna cotta, the dessert is made extra special with a top layer of salted caramel and then sprinkled with vanilla crumble and crushed pistachio for added texture.

Or find delight in the Mao Shan Wang mousse cake – a luxurious adaptation of the hotel’s very first durian creation, the unmissable Durian Mousse cake made with D24 pulp.

MAO SHAN WANG DESIGNER CAKE ($50 for 350g)

Another option is the Mao Shan Designer Cake, which features a cross-section like of the husky durian. Made with fresh cream and decadent Mao Shan Wang mousse, this handcrafted masterpiece is a feast to your eyes (and then your tummy)!

If you a fan of crepes, try this unpretentious combination of ultra-thin homemade crepe stuffed with lavish amount of creamy durian pulp for the ultimate decadence. Simple yet satisfying!

From 27 May to 31 July 2017, Coffee Lounge at Goodwood Park Hotel will also be serving its Dessert Buffet with durian pastries for lunch and lunch. Alternatively, takeaway is available at The Deli.

For all takeaway durian pastries (except ice cream and Mao Shan Wang products) at The Deli, guests can enjoy exclusive privileges. Advance reservation of 5 days from date of order for collection is required.
