The prized hairy crab returns to Shang Palace in a variety of dishes and available only for a limited period from now till end of November 2016.
The decadent six-course menu specially crafted by Master Chef Steven Ng is priced at $138++ per person. Set menu highlights include the Classic Steamed Hairy Crab and modern take on seasonal ingredients such as Barbecue Kurobuta Pork with Shredded Lobster Roll, Claypot Braised Bird’s Nest Dumpling, Deep-fried Cod Fish with Yuzu Honey Glaze, Stewed Green Bean Noodles with Crab Meat & Minced Pork, and Double Boiled Almond Cream with Fish Maw.
Gourmands will enjoy a complimentary bottle of 8-year-old Chinese yellow wine with every four set menus ordered.
New fiesty creations on the Hairy Crab a la carte menu include Braised Tofu Meatball with Hairy Crab Meat and Roe ($42 per portion) or Pan-Fried Hairy Crab Meat Stuffed Shell with Shrimp Paste and Pork ($28 per piece), Crispy Noodle with Sea Caracol, Hairy Crab Meat and Roe ($24 per portion).
To savour the natural flavours of the famed and seasonal delicacy, opt for the traditional Steamed Hairy Crab ($92 for 230g male hairy crab / $82 for 170g female hairy crab), you can relish the succulent sweet meat and rich creamy roe of the little beasties. The hairy crabs are paired with fresh ginger tea to enhance its natural flavours.
Available for both lunch and dinner from 17 October till 30 November 2016.
