The Mookata craze is not over yet! Talay Kata, a new buffet-style Mookata restaurant, has just opened at Orchard Central, and is jumping onto the salted egg yolk bandwagon by offering salted egg soup base. The other soup bases available are tom yum, chicken, and bonito. We tried the tom yum – Talay Kata‘s version is mild and sweet, which is great for those who can’t take the spiciness of tom yum.
The buffet includes a line-up of seafood, meat and vegetables. The seafood spread is good – there is crayfish, bamboo clams, Japanese scallops, crabs, salmon, shishamo, squid, prawns and clams.
The meat selection is pretty good too, with items such as bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms, beef cubes, pork jowl, and chicken and capsicum kebabs.
There is also a range of cooked food available, including green curry and chilli clams. I also loved the Thai-style sauces, especially the orange sukiyaki sauce!
For such a spread, prices are very reasonable (all-inclusive with drinks and dessert), and combined with the spacious and central location, makes Talay Kata a must-try for your next gathering with friends or family.
