Froth is a 140-seater Asian fusion restaurant located conveniently at Ascott Raffles Place. It started off as a cafe at BIG Hotel reigning supreme with its widespread Taro Waffles over the social media.
With the reopening at its new location, it has since been upgraded with a more upscale ambience and features new exciting creations on the menu.
Guests can look forward to interesting items on the menu, such as Hot & Cold Foie Gras ($23.90++) which provide a contrast between pan-seared foie gras and chilled foie gras with a refreshing apple-kiwi core, and the Oriental Duck Salad ($16.90++), which is a mix of roasted duck, smoked duck and confit duck in spring roll, with crunchy carrot and turnip shreds in an appetising citrus plum dressing.
A star of the menu would be the Five Spice Wagyu Patty Burger ($34.90++). At first bite, you will be pleasantly surprised by the flavourful and juicy patty, encased in a perfectly crispy outer layer, sandwiched in a soft fluffy bun and served with truffle fries on the side.
The Ponzu Soya Cod ($35.90++) is also another crowd favourite. The cod fish is cooked using the sous vide technique, then lightly grill over the fire to achieve the crisp brown skin.
Other innovative dishes include the SioBak Aglio ($25.90++), which combines crispy and tender pork belly and chilli-infused linguine, topped with crunchy honey pork bacon reminiscent of bak kwa.
The Seafood Tom Yum Risotto ($29.90++) has a lovely creamy texture, topped with seafood ingredients like prawns and clams – the seafood were grilled separately adding a mouthwatering smoky flavour to the dish.
Finish your meal with the French Toast Waffle ($16.90++), which comes in a huge portion enough to share with a friend or two! The French toast waffle features a different texture from the usual waffles, as the semi-cooked waffle was dipped in french toast batter and deep fried to perfection – it is moist and dense inside while crunchy on the outside.
The French toast waffle was topped with crispy cereal flakes which reminds me of the popular Zi Char cereal prawn dish, then drizzled with condensed milk, banana fritters and a scoop of toasted marshmallow ice-cream, which pleasantly complements the hot and crispy waffles.
Wash it down with a selection of drinks such as the popular Iced Lychee Tea ($4.90++), the refreshing Froth Cooler ($10.90++), or the indulgent Speculoos Milkshake ($14.90++).
