P1100306

Held in conjunction with Singapore Food Festival, the Singapore Favourite Food Village is an annual 10-day local culinary festival organised by the Singapore Food & Beverage Alliance (SFBA) and supported by Singapore Tourism Board that showcases the richness and diversity of Singapore’s culinary landscape.

Food lovers can indulge in over 100 creations from 25 culinary partners such as Flavours At Zhongshan Park, Big Street, Wei Yi Laksa, Churros Factory, Momolato, The Bakery Chef, Jubilee Coffee House & Bar, Keith Crackling Roast and more.

Be entertained by the live cooking demonstrations and street performances every Saturday and Sunday while chomping down on classic local delights, innovative mod-sin cuisine as well as local-inspired bistro dishes by hipster food trucks.

Culinary Partners At Singapore Favourite Food Village 2016

With more than 100 dishes available, we are indeed spoilt for choice. Below are the dishes that we have tried at the Singapore Favourite Food Festival. Some hits and misses I would say. Kudos to those who think out of the box and try to add a modern spin to classic local favourites but unfortunately, those dishes do not get our nod of approval.

Dishes That Get Our Nod of Approval – Recommended To Try!

1) Black & White Pork Belly from Collagen Pot – A duo of braised pork belly with homemade Nonya & mustard sauce and steamed (then chilled) pork belly with sambal. We prefer the braised pork belly as the meat’s more tender and flavourful as compared to the ‘white’ pork belly.

2) Signature Mini Crackling Roast Platter from Keith Crackling Roast – A combination of crackling pork belly and honey pork with garlic mash and lemongrass rice. We love the crackling pork! So good! The garlic mash is a little underwhelming though.

3) Ondeh Ondeh Churros from Churros Factory – Pandan-infused churros drenched with gula melaka sauce and sprinkled with desiccated coconut. Best savoured immediately, the churros are crisp on the outside, slightly dense with a hint of pandan. We like the sweet-savoury taste of the churros.
