The annual Singapore Food Festival organised by the Singapore Tourism Board makes a comeback from 15th to 31st July 2016. The much anticipated festival will feature many fascinating speakers, presentations, events and food for you to fall in love endlessly with. One of the exciting events to look out for at Singapore Food Festival 2016 is the Picnic Garden @ ION Orchard, held in conjunction with Culinary Creations 2016.

This is the second year running that ION Orchard is presenting the Culinary Creations, and it is also the only official mall partner of the Singapore Food Festival 2016. Three days of culinary indulgence and bustling activities (15th to 17th July 2016) will take place at ION Orchard‘s basement level – family and friends can also create your own one-of-a-kind picnic at the indoor picnic garden, exquisitely styled by Crate and Barrel.

ION Art and UOB present: Create

Another key highlight, the ION Art and UOB present: Create, will take on an interesting ‘palette to palate’ approach. Newly created dishes inspired by works from the UOB Art Collection, exclusive to Salt Grill & Sky Bar by Luke Mangan and The Marmalade Pantry from 15 July to 15 September 2016.

Salt Grill & Sky Bar by Luke Mangan‘s Executive Chef Matthew has designed a Let’s Have A Burger dish ($32++) inspired by Ms Lee Jia Zhen’s painting – Most Promising Artist of the Year Singapore award in the 2014 UOB Painting of the Year competition; while The Marmalade Pantry‘s Pastry Chef Ryan Low designed a cupcake ($4.90++) inspired by Mr Aaron Gan’s painting, Starry Starry Night, which he won the Established Category Gold Award Singapore award in the 2015 UOB Painting of the Year competition.

Create: Art Exhibition

You can also view the above award-winning artworks including two other pieces – Purple Dream by Mr Tay Chee Toh and Space Odyssey by Ms Stefanie Hauger from the UOB Art Collection at ION Art Gallery, ION Orchard Level 4 from 20th to 31st July 2016, open daily from 10am to 10pm.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the art-inspired dishes at the restaurants and from the sale of the paintings displayed at the exhibition will be donated to Rainbow Centre and The Little Arts Academy.
