Adam Road Nasi Lemak by Selera Rasa is no secret to any nasi lemak fans, locally and internationally. Royalties like the Sultan of Brunei would request it for breakfast each time he visits Singapore. The beloved nasi lemak was been served to the Indonesian President Joko Widodo by our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana in November 2015.

CRAVE The Original Adam Road Nasi Lemak By Selera Rasa is the latest concept and establishment that offers customers option of enjoying the award-winning nasi lemak with the traditional Teh tarik or pulled tea from Rafee’s Corner at Amoy Street.


While some other nasi lemak institutions pride themselves with more offerings such as sambal sotong, sambal udang (prawns), beef rendang or paru (beef lungs), CRAVE keep it simple and uses only high quality ingredients that make its nasi lemak shine.

What most customers (including myself) want in nasi lemak are just two things, snow white fluffy rice and sambal chilli characterised by a tease of sweetness and slow burn. CRAVE does exactly that.

Some may argue that the rice here lacks texture, that’s because the good folks had substituted Thai rice with basmati rice for health reasons. Basmati rice is gluten-free and low in fat. The long slender grain is unlike other ordinary long grain rice, it offers a distinctive, unique and slightly ‘nutty’ texture.

The sambal here is the same version as Selera Rasa’s – made from a cultural blend of Indian and Japanese spices, as well as some secret ingredients, cooked for over five hours to achieve its piquant taste.


Adding on to Selera Rasa’s winning formula is their enticing crispy chicken wings and fresh otah otah. The chicken wing sings with a crunchy golden brown batter that envelops its warm tender flesh.

The otah otah features a proportionate ratio of quality mackerel fish meat, tapioca starch and spices, wrapped in banana leaf, and then grilled to perfection. The only thing they could improve is probably the fried egg which was a little overfried (wobbly yolk is preferred).

CRAVE menu offers five main course sets (A to E) with optional add on sides and beverages.

  • Fish Fillet (Set B – $4.90) – Nasi Lemak with fish fillet and Bergedil (spiced potato patty)
  • Full House (Set C – $5.90) – Nasi Lemak with chicken wing and egg
  • Chicken Cutlet (Set D – $5.90) – Nasi Lemak with chicken cutlet and egg
  • Royal Rumble (Set E – $6.90) – Nasi Lemak with chicken wing, Bergedil and kuning fish

Add on $1 for any drink or sides with any meal purchase.
