Strategically located near Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Caffé B, a social Italian dining and bar, serves premium Italian-Japanese cuisine as well as Italian and Japanese wines in a relaxed and chic setting.
Above the restaurant is a casual al fresco bar, offering Japanese-inspired cocktails against a striking view of Singapore’s cityscape.
Good news for those seeking to dine in a restaurant (within Marina Bay Sands) without breaking the bank as Caffé B has revamped their lunch set menu and is also offering lunch service at Caffé B bar.
Known for serving Italian delicacies with a Japanese touch, Caffé B‘s latest 3-course lunch set menu set you back at only $25++, inclusive of an appetiser, main and dessert. Opt for your preferred choice from the two appetisers and three mains.
Tofu Salad – One of the appetisers from the set lunch menu. Medley of greens tossed in soya sesame dressing and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Served together with cherry tomatoes, wakame and crispy tofu cubes. Perfect for the health conscious.
If you are not a fan of greens, opt for Chef’s Fresh Pot of the Day. Luxuriously smooth, tangy beans and tomato soup that will whet your appetite before your main course.
As for the mains, three options are available. They are Linguine con le Vongole, Wagyu Groppa Filetto and Melanzane alla Parmegiana.
Linguine con le Vongole – A traditional Neapolitan pasta of clams and linguine cooked in white wine sauce, chilli confit and Italian parsley. Would like this better if it was less oily and salty.
Wagyu Groppa Filetto – Pan seared Wagyu rump served with creamy pomme puree, roasted vegetables and drizzled with port wine reduction. Good for those who need their daily dose of proteins.
Melanzane alla Parmegiana – A classic Northern Italian, meatless dish featuring a gratinated tower of aubergine layered with tomato relish and Parmesan on a pool of zucchini cream sauce. My personal favourite among the three.
Chocolate Peanut Bar – Dessert is a chocolate and cheese brownie with Madagascar vanilla bean chantilly, glazed with peanut ganache. Served with raspberry coulis and fresh forest berries. The brownie layer was a little dry and dense but the flavours work well together and I kind of enjoyed this.
Over at Caffé B bar, the newly launched 3-course set lunch menu offers a selection of Italian-Japanese dishes at an affordable price of $20++, with an added bonus of a splendid view of the cityscape.
Fresh Mesclun Green Salad tossed in Japanese soya dressing and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Not a fan of salad with only greens. Prefer salads with additional proteins, nuts or fruits. The greens were fresh and crunchy though.
Choose from two mains, Risotto alla Milanese “Tendon Style” or Chilled Pesto and Wakame Capellini alla Caprese.
Risotto alla Milanese “Tendon Style” – Hidden beneath the pile of crispy ebi tempura and mixed vegetables is saffron risotto. This Italian-Japanese fusion dish is then finished with homemade Japanese Tendon sauce. Love the deep-fried mushrooms!
Chilled Pesto and Wakame Capellini alla Caprese – Caffe B’s version of chilled Capellini pasta tossed with pesto and topped with fresh wakame, slices of buffalo mozzarella and tomato. A light and refreshing dish. Can’t get enough of the semi-soft buffalo mozzarella.
Caramelized Milk Pudding – Complete your meal with a dessert. Steamed milk and egg yolk custard served with fresh cream, wild berries and a drizzle of creamy caramel sauce.
Caffé B‘s 3-course lunch set menu ($25++) is available between 12pm to 3pm daily whereas the lunch set menu ($20++) over at Caffé B bar is only available on weekdays (except Public Holidays), 12pm to 3pm.
