Homegrown cafe chain Joe & Dough unveiled its latest concept at Waterway Point shopping mall, providing the residents of Punggol the opportunity to enjoy coffee in all variations, especially the more surprising – its first cold brew coffee.
The new outlet at Waterway Point boasts an experimental coffee bar concept inviting customers to join the coffee experience along with a team of professional baristas.
This is the first time that Joe & Dough is using the MVP Hydra, a state of the art espresso machine from Synesso. The luxury MVP Hydra comes with paddles which allows baristas to manually control its different functions and even save the parameter variables for the perfect espresso shot.
Joe & Dough creates a buzz with a new blend of coffee, in honour of this new and exciting outlet. The blend is of Brazil (40%), India (40%), and Ethiopia (20%) – which is known for its velvet texture, rich and bold flavour. Customers can also enjoy different single-origin beans featured at the Punggol outlet on a quarterly basis.
Furthermore, Joe & Dough debuts its Cold-Brew Coffee; the Black Brew ($6) crafted from single-origin beans from San Lorenzo, Costa Rica and the White Brew ($7) features single-origin beans from Alice Estate, Brazil.
Joe & Dough Cold Brew
Joe & Dough wants to give not only a unique coffee profile, but also refreshing options and aims at the younger generations in the Punggol settlement that might not be too well acquainted with cold brew coffee. I personally prefer the black brew over the white, as it brings out the true flavour of the coffee bean. For those who like a creamy smooth coffee, the white brew should probably suit you better.
The Perfect Joe & Dough Pairing
Americano and Gula Melaka Pandan Cake ($7.80) – Fragrant and moist pandan cake with gula melaka coconut topping is a classic combination when paired with a freshly brewed Americano – simplicity at its best!
Cappuccino and Almond Biscotti ($8.20) – For those whom prefer the Italian experience, will find joy in the pairing of a frothy cappuccino and crunchy almond biscotti. We love the buttery and nutty flavour profiles in this combination.
Signature d.r. Joe and Sea Salt Caramel Slice ($8.80) – If you want something stronger than the usual, try the double ristretto (d.r.) coffee which is my absolute perfect espresso. The sea salt caramel slice is rich and decadent, but the bold coffee helps to cut through the sweetness, offering a really well-balanced flavour.
Joe & Dough Hot Cross Buns
For a limited time offer from now till 27th March 2016, Joe & Dough offers hot cross buns at all the outlets as a memento of Easter Day. Each traditional spice Hot Cross Bun is sold at $2 with every beverage purchase (U.P. $3.50), or savour some golden lava from the soft and pillowy Salted Egg Yolk Hot Cross Bun ($4.50), a perfect way to celebrate the Season of Lent.
