Mr Churro Singapore

A second wave of Korean churros arrived on our shores recently. I hit the shopping mall at Orchard Road over the weekend to find who they are and why their churros are so popular in South Korea.

With over twenty outlets across South Korea, the popular Korean churros brand Mr Churro has opened its first outlet in Singapore at ION Orchard basement food hall and revealed that they will continue to open more outlets in the next three years.

So let us find out what’s in store at the popular Mr Churro kiosk.

At an iconic length of 50 centimetres, this U-shaped beauty is the signature churro at MR CHURRO. Freshly fried a la minute to crisp on the outside and boasting a pillowy bite inside, this tasty snack is served originally at $4.50 each, or with a choice dip of blueberry, dark chocolate and milk custard for a price difference of 50 cents.

Nutty Churro ($5.90)

A popular choice is the Nutty Churro, featuring the original churro finished with chunky nuts, almond flakes and chocolate sauce. For those who loves a little surprise, Filler Churros ($4.90) are also available with a choice filler of chocolate custard or milk custard.

Ice Cream Churro ($6.50)

My favourite pick is the Ice Cream Churro, also the best seller at Mr Churro. The ice cream comes in either vanilla or banana made from the Binggrae’s Banana Flavored Milk. I personally go for the Korea’s favorite ambrosial banana concoction, but for those who doesn’t like banana, stick to vanilla flavour – always a safe choice.

On 18th December 2015, Mr Churro will celebrate its official grand opening offering complimentary original churro for any churro purchase from 10.00am to 9.00pm. Filler churro will not be available during the opening promotion.
