Joe & Dough Christmas Season of Giving

 

Unbeknown to many locals, Joe & Dough is a homegrown brand founded by Singaporean couple Damien Koh and Dawn Wee. The very successful coffee and sandwich chain currently has NINE outlets in Singapore.

Joe & Dough‘s latest outlet has gone sky high set on Level 36 of Capitol Tower, accompanied by high floor-t0-ceiling windows overlooking the Central Business District. Getting up to this ‘sky-cafe’ can be done by obtaining an access card from Capital Tower Concierge Counter located at the main lobby on Level 1.

I have had the privilege of joining the amazing team at Joe & Dough for the Christmas party and preview of their holiday bakes, including a hands-on session of piping Gingerbread myself. It was fun decorating our own Gingerbread man, but I can tell you it wasn’t easy at all.

Look at the actual Gingerbread Man (below) done by the Joe & Dough baker chefs versus the one I did (above), you can tell that I was amateurishly bad at it.

We were also treated to a yuletide spread – including various Joe & Dough favourites and scrumptious festive bakes highlighted below.

Slices of smoked turkey ham complimented by sweet apple cranberry sauce, Emmental cheese, roasted onions, bell peppers and crisp baby romaine in sweet potato loaf.

An Italian Christmas dessert staple hailing from Milan. This sweet bread loaf has a light fluffy texture with citrus notes of lemon and orange to add a zesty dimension to its flavour.

A traditional fruit cake mixed in the saccharine vanilla cake sponge are the familiar spices of cinnamon and ginger, paired with crunchy walnuts and candied fruits.

STOLLEN ($28 for 400g) – Available for pre-order only

A classic German Christmas pastry which provides an array of flavours and textures with its spiced dough mixture of cardamom and nutmeg mixed with premium citrus peels from France. It is baked and coated with hazelnut butter and let to rest for 3 whole days to produce a delectably fragrant loaf.

Delicately poached ginger pear layered between a luscious chocolate sponge slathered with premium Valrhona chocolate ganache and a crunchy feuilletine base.

The gingerbread is made of sugar and baking spices, filled with love and cuteness that are sure to be a crowd-pleaser for adults and kids alike.

The founders of Joe & Dough strongly believe in the power of love and the joy of giving. This festive season, the Joe & Dough team went to spread the holiday cheer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, set up a Christmas Bazaar on 19th November where Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread Man were up for grabs for a worthy cause.

You too can make a difference. Instill your love in the needy patients and little ones, help raise phenomenal amounts with a minimum donation of $3.50 into the TTSH Community Fund Box at the following locations.
