2015 RAS Epicurean Star Award

 

RAS Epicurean Star Award – An annual platform where various F&B establishments are recognised for their exceptional cuisine and dining experiences. Into its 10th year, the gala dinner was held on 18 November 2015 at Fairmont Ballroom, Raffles City Convention Centre.

The event was graced by Guest of Honour, NTUC Secretary-General, Mr Chan Chun Sing and more than 1,000 professionals and food dignitaries of the F&B industry in Singapore gathered to celebrate the achievements of the well-deserved F&B establishments. Also, this year marked the 35th year of the Restaurant Association of Singapore.

A total number of 32 awards were presented that evening, of which 21 awards were under the prestigious Epicurean Star Award.

Epicurean Star Award

Nominees of each individual award were assessed based on a set of criteria over a one-month anonymous dining judging period in October 2015. Winners were then unanimously elected by a panel of 19 gastronomy luminaries like owner-chef of 2am Dessert Bar, Janice Wong, food critic Wong Ah Yoke, Class 95 radio DJ Yasminne Cheng as well as influential food bloggers like Maureen Ow (@misstamchiak) and Dr Leslie Tay (@ieatishootipost).

Star Chef Competition 2015

Awards were also presented to the winning teams of the Star Chef Competition – An annual competition where local F&B industry showcase new and exciting dish creations. The 5th edition of Star Chef Competition, co-organised with the Singapore Chefs Association was held on 26 and 27 August 2015, with 60 chefs forming 15 teams.

Silver Award: JP Pepperdine Junior Team

* There was only one team who signed up for this category. Judging was done according to World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) standards.

5S Excellence Award

A special category award that recognises companies who have scored the best in 2015’s RAS 5S audit.
