Nakula Organic Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil

So most of us know how amazing coconut oil is – eating coconut oil has been shown to be particularly effective in helping to reduce weight and fat, but do you know that it has many other benefits for health and beauty as well?

People often think because of the high saturated fat content in coconut oil, eating it is extremely bad for the health. However, they are wrong. The high amount of lauric acid in coconut oil actually helps to reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

It also strengthens the immune system of the body and works as an amazing moisturiser for the skin. I used it as a shaving “cream” and worked its magic on my hair for treating dry ends.

There is a long list on how you can use coconut oil effectively, but I haven’t quite gone there to try it out myself. Beside using coconut oil for cooking and baking, I read that someone actually used it for mouthwash treatment and body scrub. Not sure how that will works, perhaps you can get onto that fun and share with me the details.

Organic products are often very expensive, but you be surprised that you can get quite affordable cold pressed virgin coconut oil from Nakula. Pick yourself up some Nakula coconut oil from Cold Storage, they are stored in glass jars so it can last for a good while.

The Honey Store

Manuka honey has long had a reputation for as a “healing honey” and it commands a much higher price than other nectar sources. The Honey Store was introduced to me by a mutual friend when he brought it back from his Hong Kong trip.

New Zealand is about the only country in the world that produces Manuka Honey. So what’s the link with Hong Kong? Ling my Singaporean friend who is currently working in Hong Kong has a direct contact with the bee farm owners in New Zealand, therefore he knows where exactly the honeys are coming from.

The manuka honey produced by The Honey Store has met international published standards that includes the monitoring and auditing of honey quality. They use MGO – which it is the simplest, fairest and most reliable standard for Manuka Honey. The higher the MGO rating, the stronger the honey.

The Manuka honey from The Honey Store has 100+ MGO (100mg of MGO per kilogram of honey) and so I know I am getting the good stuff. The texture of the Manuka honey is thicker as compared to the regular ones, however it is smooth and fluid, I can consume it directly or with dilution of water.
